Description
Designed by its Italian owner Giovanna Cinel, this small luxurious riad is a haven of peace and luxurious style in the heart of the Medina.
The three suites and one deluxe room in Riad Due are built around an elegant patio where, after arriving, you can immediately relax, have a refreshing mint tea, and soak up the exotic, other-worldly atmosphere of this southern desert city.
The design is contemporary rather than traditonal Moroccan, a fresh perspective brought by its Italian owner who wisely decided to make the most of the building's lovely architecture. In the mineral stone patio, pillars draw the eye upwards for metres, - this is an unusually high riad - and round wooden tables with interesting pale-green wing-back chairs are joined by palms and jasmine beside the plunge pool...
Carved high wood ceilings, marble and copper bathtubs, fireplaces and other individual details are to be found in the exquisitely furnished guestrooms of the first floor, of which three are suites and one is a deluxe room. On this floor there is also a library with art and architecture books.
Venture up to the rooftop and you'll be stunned by the view from the panoramic terrace with spectacular views of the Koutoubia and Atlas Mountains – one of the highest in the medina – where a Moroccan salon, dinner area and deckchairs await.
While you stay here, you can take advantage of 12 hour room service and free WiFi. And, for dining, the Moroccan house restaurant conveniently serves breakfast, a light lunch and dinner.
Riad Due is located in the Laarousse area in the old medina of Marrakesh, five minutes from Jema'a el Fna square and ten minutes from the souks.
