Palazzo Murat Hotel

Near Piazzetta dei Mulini and set in a tranquil pedestrian zone surrounded by botanical gardens, Palazzo Murat is an elegant 18th century hotel found in the centre of Positano.

Gioacchino Murat, brother-in-law of Napoleone Bonaparte, fell in love with Positano when he was king of Naples in the early 1800s. He was also charmed by an old palace, currently Palazzo Murat, and decided to make it into his summer home.

Palazzo Murat has succeeded in enchanting other famous figures including John Steinbeck, Giovanni Zagoruiko, Escher, Carla Fracci and Rudolph Nurejev.

Close to main public transport and public parking, the hotel is within walking distance of the sea and main beach, called Spiaggia Grande. This walk will take you on a scenic view of Positano's picturesque shops and streets, providing a charming way to see the city.

In the morning enjoy a sumptuous buffet breakfast, with homemade sweets prepared daily by the hotel's pastry chef, in the hotel's courtyard surrounded by lush gardens. Here you can also savour typical local specialities from Al Palazzo restaurant in the evening.

The hotel offers a host of services. From June until September a typical boat called Gozzo is available for daily excursions along the coast. Airport transfers, scooters and boat services are also available on request. The hotel can even provide you with beach towels, baby-sitting services and massages (all available on request).

This 4-star hotel also provides a large outdoor patio where various classical chamber music concerts are held during the summer.

The buffet breakfast is held from 08:00 until 11:00.

In the historic courtyard filled with colours and light, you can enjoy a refreshing drink at the cocktail bar from 17:00 until 24:00.
