One & Only Le Saint Geran

Under the calm sway of thousands of coconut palms, immaculate gardens run down to the edge of the coral-sand beach, which seemlesly wraps the peninsula for over a mile.

The sheltered lagoon provides calm waters for an array of water sports accessible within steps and idyllic for adults and children alike. Deft skills dispense sublime calm and confidence at the spa, a discreet sanctuary with its own private lap pool. The lush Gary Player 9-hole golf course situated in the resort's grounds has its own Golf Academy and clubhouse. Immortalised in Bernardin de Saint Pierre's novel 'Paul et Virginie,' the resort's peninsula is near the site of Le Saint Géran shipwreck.

Suites are handsome spaces of fine proportion, offering vistas of the deep blue of the Indian Ocean. All 148 junior suites (65-70m²/700-753ft² including balcony/terrace), 14 Ocean Suites (119m²/1,281ft² including balcony/terrace), and one villa (622m²/6,695ft² including balcony/terrace), feature a private terrace facing either the ocean or cove, or a door opening onto a tropical garden. Spacious bathrooms are beautifully appointed, with great cascading showers.

The jewel in One&Only Le Saint Géran's gastronomic crown is the 'haute-couture' gourmet restaurant Spoon des Îles, creation of world-renowned Michelin-Star chef Alain Ducasse. Spoon des Îles represents the first venture out of Paris of Monsieur Ducasse's Spoon Food & Wine restaurant and explores the world of food with a tempting array of multi-ethnic cuisines matched by the finest selected wines, chosen by Monsieur Ducasse's trusted sommelier, Gérard Margeon. Serving dinner only; reservations required.

The newest dining venue, Rasoi by Vineet features the multi-award winnig contemporary Indian cuisine of Vineet Bhatia, whose Michelin-starred Chelsea restaurant was named "Indian Restaurant of the Year" just a year after it opened. The new tropical waterside restaurant enjoys a magnificent natural setting, with views of the green sugarcane-clad mountains and the private lagoon. Dining at Rasoi by Vineet is a multi-sensory experience, from the atmospheric tropical fans, bespoke chill-out music and live "floor show" of chefs in the kitchen, to the aromas of cooking from the wood-fired oven. The kichen features Vineet's signature live acts, including a TAK-A-TAK grill, a form of traditional Indian Tepanyaki and an open Tandoor. Reservations required.

Surrounding the pool and overlooking the Indian Ocean, La Terrasse offers an eclectic variety of local and international specialities. Breakfast offers a sumptuous buffet including eggs cooked to order, fresh pastries, tropical fruit, and more. Lunch follows with a choice of fresh local fish and seafood complemented with Asian-inspired specialties. Nightly entertainment accompanies dinner, providing an exquisite voyage of cultural discovery. Table d'hôte menus feature mouth-watering crayfish and prawns straight from the ocean, spicy temptations of home-grown Creole cuisine, and the delicate subtleties of France, India, China and Asia.

KidsOnly, for children ages four to eleven, is a complimentary service offering a range of supervised daily programmes and age-appropriate activities from 10am to 10pm each day.
