Description
Located in the heart of Manhattan, the property is a quietly sophisticated hotel offering understated elegance and unparalleled service in an intimate, friendly, home-away-from-home atmosphere.
Completed in August 2008, Morgans Hotel Group unveils Andrée Putman's new vision for Morgans, a powerful reinterpretation that propels Morgans style and spirit forward without changing its unique character. New design additions include an art installation commissioned by Ms. Putman and created by the French design collective Trafik.
Ms. Putman has re-imagined the guestrooms and penthouse and The "Living Room" has been re-done and upgraded with a high-tech business center. Morgans signature restaurant, Asia de Cuba, continues to create a culinary and social buzz with a menu that blends Latin and Asian cuisine with stunning results.
The Morgans Hotel recently finishing a complete redesign in August 2008. The hotel provides guests with a peaceful refuge from the activity of Manhattan with the atmosphere of a classic estate transported to the city.
Morgans is the hotel that changed all the rules. From the moment it opened its doors on Madison Avenue, it startled the world with a convention-shattering attitude and distinctive design sensibility. This grand experiment in style was concocted by legendary designer Andrée Putman, whose projects have ranged from the Guggenheim Museum to Peter Greenaway movie sets
The hotel is furnished with a variety of international designs, from English sofas to African wood tables to modern amenities.
Conceived by the critically acclaimed French designer Andrée Putman, all of Morgans' guestrooms and suites convey a peaceful and elegant sophistication. Morgans provides modern comforts that create a perfect haven for guests.
A true home-away-from-home with a twist - flat-screen televisions with full-cable access including premium channels, movies on demand, refrigerators with in-room refreshments and fresh flowers. Custom designed 100% Scottish wool checkered blankets and bathroom amenities made exclusively for Morgans Hotel Group by the renowned Greek apothecary company Korres Natural Products can also be found in each guest room.
From the day it opened, Asia de Cuba has been one of New York's liveliest and most popular restaurants. Under the direction of acclaimed restaurateur Jeffrey Chodorow, Asia de Cuba serves an innovative menu that blends the best of Asian and Latino cuisines in a soaring and beautifully theatrical Philippe Starck-designed space. Featuring a 30-foot long illuminated marble communal table that runs through the main dining area, a 15-foot tall photo lightbox featuring a "running waterfall," ultra-comfortable high-backed white banquettes, and cozy living room areas with fireplaces.
Enjoy Morgans complimentary continental breakfast and Living Room serving coffee and tea all day.
