Description

Mama Ruisa is a new boutique-hotel with a friendly feeling combined with a unique and modern French touch, offering a personalized service to enable you to enjoy an unforgettable Brazilian experience. All rooms offer you a special view to the well known Sugar Loaf and Guanabara Bay.

Collections of original drawings and photographs by Jean Cocteau, Colette and Maria Callas illustrate the white walls of the hotel. Josephine Baker and Carmen Miranda whisper romantic songs through the art nouveau stained glass windows. Fabrics with flowers painted decorate beds, curtains and sofas.

Santa Teresa ceased being an upper class neighbourhood long ago, but it has been revived as an artistic hotspot. It is home to several artists and art studios and galleries. The offer of restaurants and bars is also varied.
