Description
The hotel is an 18th-century mansion situated just 800 metres from the centre of Aix-en-Provence, in the heart of a beautiful 2-acre garden planted with flowers and chestnut trees.
This elegant, stone bastide combines 18th century décor with touches of Provencal chic to provide a serene and luxurious experience.
The rooms have been carefully decorated in a typical Provencal style and offer a warm and charming atmosphere. Some overlook the garden and Sainte Victoire Mountain from a balcony or terrace.
All of the guestrooms are comfortably furnished and well-equipped with modern en suite facilities. Wi-Fi internet access is available in the rooms and is free of charge.
Le Pigonnet features a gourmet restaurant, Le Riviera that serves delicious regional cuisine inspired by Provence. During the summer months, the restaurant offers guests outdoor dining on the open terrace.
There is also an outdoor heated swimming-pool open from March to September, a fitness room and a hammam.
The reception staff will be delighted to help you with theatre and cinema tickets, excursions, shopping and advice about what to do in the local area.
Chambermaids and housekeepers are on call 24 hours a day and there is a full room service including bar snacks, drinks and laundry. Secure parking is available within the hotel grounds and a courtesy car is always ready to take you into the city centre.
All rooms are air-conditioned and sound-proofed.
The hotel's Le Riviera restaurant has gained a reputation for its blend of traditional French cuisine and the regional delights of Provence. The elegant, Italian-styled dining room seats 80 and when the weather is fine, there's no better place to dine than on the hotel's terrace under a canopy of chestnut trees.
Aix is a stunning city to visit any time of the year. It is full of wonderful monuments, a maze of narrow backstreets and great shopping.
Ever since Roman times it has gained a reputation for art and culture. Every July it hosts a lyric arts festival. Just a short drive from Avignon, Le Pigonnet is a perfect base from which to explore the delights of Provence such as the bulls and wild horses of the Carmargue, the seaside beauty of Cassis, the stone farmhouses of the Luberon and the lively charm of Marseille.
