Hotel Matterhorn Focus

Opened in June 2008, the Hotel Matterhorn Focus is the newest hotel in Zermatt and offers a fantastic location with an unbeatable view of the Matterhorn.

The combination of modern architecture, pleasant comfort, attentive service and a fascinating landscape accounts for the hotel's special ambience. The Hotel Matterhorn Focus is reachable through a tunnel from the valley station of the cable car. A lift will take our guests 30 metres up to the hotel's light-flooded public areas, where the lobby, the lounge, the breakfast room and the spa area with its visible indoor and outdoor pools are located.

There is a beautiful terrace with comfortable seating on the ground floor. Needless to say, our guests enjoy an unobstructed view of the Matterhorn from here. The 3 structures above house the rooms and suites. All south-facing rooms focus on the Matterhorn, explaining the hotel's name.

Our hotel is located directly at the Kleinmatterhorn valley station. The largest ski and hiking area can be reached in a few minutes. The village centre of Zermatt is only a short walk away.

The spacious and exclusive spa area is perfect for sophisticated relaxation. A beautiful indoor pool, an outdoor whirlpool, a salt-water bath, a caldarium, a Finnish sauna and a relaxation room with warm deck chairs are available to guests. Massage and beauty treatments, "well-fit" classes and various leisure activities provide pleasant physical well-being all around.

The bright and airy meeting rooms of the Hotel Matterhorn Focus are equipped with all technical facilities for successful seminars and conferences.

All our rooms were furnished and designed by the famous Swiss artist and designer Heinz Julen. Among other amenities, they feature flat screen TVs and a Nespresso coffee maker. Most of our 30 spacious rooms and suites offer a view of the Matterhorn - in some of them you can even see the mountain from the free-standing bathtubs. Other rooms offer a view of the village.

We serve a rich breakfast buffet.

Zermatt is car-free. Access for private cars is only possible as far as Täsch (about 6 km from Zermatt). The road between Täsch and Zermatt is closed to private transport. Multi-storey and outdoor car parks are available in Täsch. Some of them offer a taxi service to and from Zermatt. From Täsch there is a shuttle train service, the Matterhorn-Gotthard-Bahn, every 20 minutes.

It is easy to travel to Zermatt by train. The best route is via Visp, which is within easy reach of all main stations in Switzerland and the airports of Geneva and Zurich. The journey from Visp to Zermatt on the Matterhorn-Gotthard-Bahn offers passengers panoramic views of the Valais Alps.
