Description
Pass through the doors of the Hôtel Daniel and you immediately leave Paris for a trip to the wonders of the Orient. Times have moved on and it is two women of oriental roots, the hotel’s owner of Lebanese origin and Tarfa Salam, a talented designer living in London, who have recreated the Orient extolled by French writers and painters of the 19th century.
The hotel, which opened in 2004, has been designed in the style of a private house displaying the fruits of the travels of an insatiable collector. Furniture, fabrics and motifs from China and the Middle East are carefully assembled and superimposed. The colours, bright or soft, silky or matt, alternate between blue and pink with a dominant note of celadon green.
More sedate than the lounges, the rooms each have their own colour scheme and particular ambiance achieved through Toiles de Jouy, often with exotic motifs. The general effect is warm and inspirational and the décor is at no time over-done or overpowering.
Although designed in the style of a traditional house, the hotel does have all the latest technology. Service is very classic and attentive.
The hotel Daniel attracts a sophisticated international clientele and will appeal to anyone looking for intimate, extraordinary décor and classic Parisian service.
