Grand Hotel de la Minerve

Housed in a 17th-century Renaissance structure that overlooks a cobblestone piazza in Rome, Italy, the Grand Hotel de la Minerve is located two blocks from the Pantheon and less than one kilometer from the Piazza Navona and the Piazza Venezia.

Originally constructed in 1620 as an aristocratic residence, this building has functioned as a hotel off and on since the 1700s. During the 19th century, it was particularly popular with French, German and British artists and intellectuals on the "Grand Tour." French novelists Stendhal and George Sand both stayed here.

Le Cesta Restaurant is known for fine Italian and international cuisines. During summer months, the restaurant expands onto the roof garden, where the sunset may be viewed against a backdrop of some of Rome's best sites.

Le Cupole Bar serves a range of wines and liquors in a relaxed and discreet setting, and offers live entertainment. The focus of the bar is Rinaldi's marble statue of the Minerva.
