Description
D. H. Lawrence stayed here in 1912 and 1913 and deemed it "one of the most beautiful places on earth."
Built in 1892, the Grand Hotel a Villa Feltrinelli was converted into a 21-room hotel in 2001.
With its Liberty style architecture, this boutique, luxury hotel on the shore of Lago di Garda quickly became one of the world's finest hotels, appealing to an elite clientele.
All of the rooms are suites, 13 are located in the main house, the one to book is Il Poeta, which has a breathtaking panorama of Lake Garda. The other guest quarters are scattered among four park cottages.
The pink hued walls of Grand Hotel a Villa Feltrinelli only hint lavish antiques, frescoed ceilings, and wonderfully quirky furnishings throughout. The bathrooms are particularly delightful, often up to 45 square meter in size with large tubs, heated marble floors, and walk-in showers.
It is surrounded by eight acres of manicured lawns, olive, orange, and magnolia trees, along with ancient oak and cypress. While enjoying the view, you may also notice the Villa's 52-ft. yacht, "La Contessa," the largest privately owned boat on the lake.
