Description
Welcome to Four Seasons Hotel Firenze. An enchanted city sanctuary in the midst of Florence, where an art-filled Renaissance palazzo and conventino frame a centuries-old private park. Relax amidst original frescoes and sculptured reliefs, graced by sunlight and airy garden vistas. Sip cappuccino under majestic trees, lounge by the open-air pool or bask in Italian spa secrets. Wonders of the Uffizi and Duomo are a stroll away. Tuscan hill towns beckon.
"The Superlative Four Seasons Florence...after a meticulous seven-year restoration under the direction of the Italian Ministry of Fine Arts and Culture, Four Seasons has created a truly magnificent hotel from two spectacular Renaissance palaces, the 15th-century Palazzo della Gherardesca and the Conventino, a 16th-century convent. Both are enclosed within a gloriously romantic 11-acre private garden." Andrew Harper's Hideaway Report, October 2008
Four Seasons Hotel Firenze offers 116 sun-filled guest rooms and suites – no two alike – located in both the Palazzo della Gherardesca and the Conventino. Reflecting their rich architectural history, many suites feature original frescoes, friezes and hand-painted sculptured reliefs – blending Renaissance artistry with high-tech comfort.
Designed to feel welcoming and comfortably residential, the accommodations are bright and airy, warmed by a melange of warm Tuscan yellows and greens. Picturesque views encompass the neighbouring streets, the surrounding palazzos and gardens, and the Hotel’s own central Giardino della Gherardesca.
Each accommodation is equipped with a flat-screen satellite television, CD and DVD player, built-in safe large enough to accommodate a laptop computer, high-speed wired and wireless Internet access, clock radio with iPod docking station, two direct-dial, multi-line telephones with voice mail, and a fully stocked private bar. Ensuite marble bathrooms feature a European soaking tub, a separate glass-enclosed shower, a bidet, thick terry robes, a large vanity, WC with telephone in a separate alcove, hair dryer and fine toiletries.
The only hotel in the heart of Florence with an on-site spa, Four Seasons Hotel Firenze is pleased to offer an exceptional experience for the mind, body and spirit – an oasis of calm in the heart of the city. The expansive 791-square-metre (8,511-square-foot) Spa at Four Seasons Hotel Firenze offers a wide range of inspiring treatments in ten luxuriously appointed treatment rooms, including one double room and one double VIP suite.
Il Palagio
Located on the ground floor of the Palazzo della Gherardesca, Il Palagio features vaulted ceilings, elegant décor and lovely views of the inner gardens. Large French doors open to a terrace that offers al fresco dining during clement weather. A seasonal menu features regional cuisine prepared with a contemporary twist, accompanied by exceptional Italian wines.
La Magnolia
On the ground floor of the Conventino, La Magnolia offers an intimate venue that serves breakfast for guests staying in this section of the Hotel. As in Il Palagio, the delectable à la carte menu is wide-ranging, from freshly baked pastries to egg specialties, smoked fish and cold meats.
Winery
A separate space located in the centre of Il Palagio, the Winery features open displays of close to 400 bottles of wine. A virtual temple of exceptional gastronomy, the Winery’s intriguing menu features a mix of traditional and contemporary local dishes served in small assaggini portions, accompanied by an abundant selection of wines, including vintage wines that can be tasted by the glass. As Florence’s most convivial meeting place, it appeals to connoisseurs and newcomers to wine alike.
