Badia A Coltibuono

Badia a Coltibuono is the first wine resort in Chianti, offering a truly unique experience in the historic atmosphere of a 1000 years old abbey and farm.

Guests can rest and relax in the magnificent garden in Italian style garden or, during summer, around the large open-air swimming pool. For the rest of the year, Badia a Coltibuono also has a small indoor swimming pool, with an annexed Turkish bath. At 650 metres above sea level, summers are temperate and the villa is naturally cool in the evenings.

Badia a Coltibuono has 8 double guest bedrooms all with ensuite bathroom. Three of these are more spacious with views spanning the Valdarno valley and 5 rooms with views over the magnificent renaissance gardens. Each room has it's own unique charm, in décor and style reflecting the elegance of the surroundings.

Situated in the original but refurbished stables, and with elegant contemporary flair, the restaurant's atmosphere is warm and welcoming, while the surrounding garden enhances the overall mood with a touch of romance.

During the hotter months meals are served outdoors under a bower of climbing roses and wisteria. Here the gourmet can savour the true aroma and flavour of the Chianti region.
